The Model 459 is a semi-automatic pistol found in Apocalypse Rising.

The Model 459, also known as the Model 59, is an improved version of the Smith and Wesson Model 39. It was designed in 1971 by the Arms manufacturing company Smith and Wesson. It was produced from 1971 to 1998.

The Model 459 looks a lot like the M1911. It is greyish silver in color, and has the shape of the CZ-75 pistol other then the slightly longer barrel. The weapon itself has one of the highest reflectance values for a pistol.

The Model 459 performs like it's civilian handgun brother, the CZ-75, however it has less recoil but a slightly worse hip-fire accuracy. It is, for most players, the best civilian handgun, mainly because of it's high capacity (14 rounds), which is great for picking off players and zombies, although it has lower damage than the civilian handguns chambered in .45 caliber.

Recommended UseEdit

This handgun is a viable choice to be used as a weapon for killing zombies because of it's high capacity and common ammo for a civilian handgun, however killing helmeted military zombies may be a nuisance, like with most other 9mm handguns. This gun, although inaccurate at all ranges above medium range, should be used in close range while sneaking up on your foe. Although you can use the iron sights to pick off enemies from medium range, it is more recommended to use it the former way. This weapon should be ditched when you find a military handgun, as they can offer higher fire rate, damage, accuracy, and capacity based on the handgun that you find.

  • In real life, the Model 459 is a slightly upgraded version of the Model 59.
